A few instructions about how to eat pintxos

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PINTXOS

The pincho or pintxo (in basque) is one of the culinary treasures of the Basque cuisine. It is a way to taste and learn about the so called exquisite cuisine in miniature. It is also a way to have fun and share conversations with people, while discovering a fantastic world of a wide range of tastes, coulours and textures.

VERY IMPORTANT!

How to eat the pintxos

1. It is better to have one or two pintxos with a glass of wine or txakoli (local sparkling white wine) or your favourite drink, and then go to another bar and continue tasting different bites, and so on.

2. If it is a cold pintxo, you can just take it directly from the counter.

3. In case of a warm pintxo (warm specialities are written on the board), ask it to the bartender.

4. The lengh of the pincho's wooden stick has nothing to do with its price. In case of doubt, just ask to the bartender.

5. You have to pay at the end. It is common for group of friends to pay on a turn-by-turn basis, or just making previously a cash pot (it is not ok to pay each one its pinchos and drinks individually).
