TILL 13 MAY
HENRI MICHAUX. THE OTHER SIDE.
An unclassifiable figure of the arts and literature of the 20th century, Henri Michaux (b. 1899, Namur, Belgium–d. 1984, Paris) greatly influenced the artists and writers of his time over the course of his long life. Both a “poets’ poet” and a “painters’ painter,” lionized by figures in both fields like André Gide and Francis Bacon, Michaux feverishly produced thousands of works on paper whose full extent is only now becoming apparent. This exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Michaux Archives in Paris, covers fifty years of Michaux’s creative activity, focusing on his most important periods and series. Bringing together some 230 of the artist’s visual works, documents, and personal objects, Henri Michaux: The Other Side is organized around three principal themes, offering a panoramic view of each: the human figure, the alphabet, and the altered psyche.
TILL 28 MAY
GOYA AND THE COURT OF ENLIGHTMENT
Devoted to Francisco de Goya within the context of the art of the courts of Charles III and Charles IV, this exhibition focuses on the commissions that Goya undertook from the time of his arrival in Madrid, particularly for the monarch. It also looks at the relationship which the artist maintained with Zaragoza during this entire period, essentially based on his friendship with Zapater; Goya's letters to his friend become a diary of his ideas and ambitions and of his life during the years of his rise at the court.

21st of December
This typical festivity marks the beginning of Christmas time. It is a hugely popular major farmers’ market, dating back to the mid-19th century, when most land was cultivated by farmers who passed down the lease from generation to generation and would traditionally come to the main cities to pay the landowners their annual rent. The leaseholders would take advantage of this day to sell their wares and buy other products which they couldn’t obtain in their own villages.
